Think about this-- A world dying. Dying of a disease spread about by a selfish cult who used time as their servant. They spread a disease that no one could find the cure to, and it continued to mutate; once they would find a cure for the old strand a new one would appear and the immune were now dying off. Picture this-- it's the year 2133. 80% of the world was dead. The last 20% were interbred species; Human/Naiad, Werewolf/Vampire, Human/Werewolf, Human/Vampire, Vampire/Naiad, Demons/Angels, Angels/Humans, Imps/Humans, Imps/Vampires, etc. The only ones who seem to survive this strange strand of virus are inter-species breed. They are all over the world, and most of them are scavengers, trying to survive off of this dying world. Even the animals were becoming scarce. The more they hunt to survive, the less they have to eat. Each clan have taken over certain parts of the world. The ones who seem to rule are the ruthless ones. The ones who are the most powerful, able to kill with powers; showing off their strength. It's eat or be eaten. It's kill or be killed in this horrible world. No one is safe. The scientists of this time are hidden underground in a bunker made by the government, hoping to save their most valuable and intelligent scientists.
But this only lasted for forty years. Their world was now dying. The humans are being snuffed out by species much stronger and more powerful than them; even the interbred ones of humans. They are hidden for now, but these mixed breeds are determined to catch each and every human they can find. Either for slaves or for food. It is said that the humans are weakest of them all. Even the ones who are a mixture of humans. If you are part human, you are considered the lowest of low when it comes to their world. But not as low as the ones who are human born. These humans are scattered and are far and few between each other. These scientists have no choice but to send back AI's who are able to reproduce and try to make more interbred humans so they were in larger numbers and hopefully can stay alive and finally find a cure to this 'perfect' virus.
They sent back fifty AI's whom are all different kinds of race and gender in different times that range from 1950's to 2050. A one hundred year gap. Hoping this will help them benefit. They are hoping that with more interbred humans, they will have more time to find this cure, if it will ever even exist. But what choice do they have now? Everyone is going to die within ten years in their present time. This is the only solution they could think of to help. Time travel has finally been perfected. They tried to stop this cult from spreading the virus, but when they would stop one of them from doing so, it didn't stop the world from dying off. Renjun waits with his back against the cold wall of a tall building until a crowd of people walk past. It was not yet midnight and there were still many people out and about the busy downtown area of Seoul. The teenage idol couldn't risk being seen out at this time of night and with that hazy look in his eyes. It had been about two months since he was introduced to something risky and secretive. And about a month since his addiction began. At first it was just pills. Harmless pills that was given to the idol group by their managers. And then it was harder pills that Renjun was offered in night clubs by older idol sunbaes. Drugs were very common in the entertainment business and Renjun was just beginning to learn about it. Now he stood in the darkness holding a small bag of the 'harder stuff' as one of his sunbaes called it and waiting for the streets to empty before he set out to walk to the NCT dorm.
Renjun tried to calm his breathing but he was also in a state of bliss so he kept smiling up at the night sky randomly. He trembled a bit and broke out in a cold sweat unsure if that was from anxiety or the effects of the ''hard stuff.' He was referred to a secret place in the private pockets of the big city by one of his sunbaes to try something harder than the pills he was normally taking. He was nervous at first but after awhile of debating it within his own mind he decided to go and do it. Life as an idol was extremely stressful, challenging and draining mentally, physically, spirirually. Especially for a child. Renjun was only fourteen years old when he debuted in the Kpop group NCT Dream. He was casted in China where he was born and raised and after being signed he moved to South Korea. He enjoyed enjoyed singing and dancing. He looked up to other Kpop group and he always wanted to be like them. Now he was just like them. He was even an undercover drug addict, faking his smiles and his innocent image and all. Just like a Kpop star. He had no idea how it really was but now he was learning. He was seeing the dark side, the tough side, the ugly side, the real side. The idol industry was nothing but hard work, merciless diets, upfront images, perfect habits and out of control saesangs. Renjun's life was only dance practice after dance practice, interviews, performances, vocal coaching, excersising, photo shoots, music video shoots, commercial shoots, fansignings all the while being crowded by fans, manangers and paparazzi. Flashing lights, flashing, cameras, shouting fans, scolding managers, smothering saesangs...who could stay sane after that?
Renjun shakes his head and pushes the negative thoughts back. Why would he complain? Why would he worry? It was what he wanted after all. He didn't regret his choice in career so why should he be upset now. He was thankful for what he had and he wouldn't change a thing. The drugs were a way to cope with it all,to be stronger and present at all times for all events. That's all they were. Nobody said life was all peaches and bubbles. Renjun had turned eighteen just two weeks before and he was maturing and understanding more than ever. His phone vibrates in his pockets but he ignores it. He knew it was a worried hyung checking up on him. He couldn't speak to them now, he only chuckles at the tingling against his thigh. His hyungs would have to wait. He was alive and healthy and he would see them soon. There was not a need to worry. "I'm eighteen. I can take care of myself." He whispers to his pocket.
Finally the crowd died down and he steps out of the shadows and on the sidewalk. He pulls his hoody over his head and keeps his head low. He holds his jacket closer to himself so his bag of goodies was secure and hidden against his body. He begins the walk to where his dorm was. It wasn't too far now just about five blocks away. But he would have to cross many streets and was he feeling prepared for that? He begins singing one of his NCT Dream songs to himself. "Go! Go! Go!" He sang loudly but not too loud. He quickly forgot that he was not supposed to draw attention to himself. The hard stuff was settling in and he felt so free, uplifted and alive. He stopped to do the choreography to his song and he spun and shook his shoulders. There was a crowd of people staring now and cheering for him. They were even honking their horns at him and he was feeling very proud of himself. He wanted to give these fans more of a show but when he opened his eyes and focused he realized. There was no cheerful crowd around him, he was in the middle of the street. An intersection and people were angrily cursing at him and honking their horns. Before he could make a move, an out of control Mustang began speeding his way...
