Kit was born with the ability to see the strings that connect people. From a young age, he was plagued with dreams of his past life in which him and his lover committed suicide. Their faces are vague, yet the moments were filled with affection and romance. In one such dream, he recalls a night where they made a promise, they would meet again in their next lives. This, he believes, is why he can now see everyone's strings except for his own.

At first, the strings were terrifying for him, and no matter how he tried to tell his family of them, they chalked it up to childish imagination. He soon learned to keep to himself and internalize all of his issues, used to being treated like he was always fibbing. As he grew older, he became more ad more timid, wanting to spend as much time as he could by himself so he didn't have to see the truth.
